Thank heavens I leave for Fiji today! The last few days have been a complete disaster and Germany is my least favorite country in the entire world. The place spawns evil professors and nice boys who aren’t very nice post relationship. So, Meg and Kevin left on Monday and I had to face my GL at school. We went through the cordial lets talk about this and we’ll still be great friends on Saturday night, so I thought things might be OK. They’re not horrible, but those first few post break-up days are never fun as they are filled with awkward situations and tricky decisions on where one should sit in class. If I had my way, the Gla would have continued in the same manner that it started – new, fun, and exciting. I’m channeling Cher’s, “If I could turn back time” right now. Even if it was my decision to end my Gla, doing so is never fun and the beginning is always a million times better. Damn it. Maybe seeing Mindy and Pam and soaking up sun in Fiji will cure my blues.
Oh, I almost forgot to mention the evil German professor – HS (Hitler’s Spawn). HS selected my group to present during the second class. I think that’s a bit early, but my conflict really arises from the fact that I will be on another continent that day. Germans are not flexible people. Not in teaching (they super authoritarian) or dating (they are sticklers for timeliness, which you all know isn’t my strong suit). Fortunately, one of the guys in my group helped me switch to a different team. But - not before I nearly burst into tears in front of the professor. Even the German boys hate this guy because he is SOOO German.
