Snorkeling for Snakes?

March 13th, 2006

Today’s quote –

“You know, in New Zealand and Australia, I missed TV and the internet, but here (in Fiji), I’m thoroughly entertained by watching this ceiling fan”
- M. Rickert, 2006 UNC MBA

Is that not the best ever? I cried over that one – mainly because she was so serious. You just have to picture Mindy looking at the fan in complete amazement.

After we missed the Cave tour, Mindy and I walked over to Blue Lagoon. I guess it’s a lagoon, but it is not Blue and Brooke Shields does not live there. Our beach at Nanuya is far prettier.

Today’s schedule – snorkel, rest, snorkel, nearly die from taunting a poisonous Coral Snake. Fortunately, Mindy is quite tactful and rather than screaming snake, she merely suggested that we head in to rest for a bit. I would have absolutely panicked. Maybe it’s best to not know what lurks on the ocean floor. Seriously though, the reef was beautiful and I saw some cool things – Mantaray, jelly fish, sea urchin, and supposedly squid. I don’t think I saw the squid, but Mindy did and she was right with me, so maybe I just didn’t know it.

Today’s Book – Finished Straight Talking – The lead character is more screwed up in relationships than I am!
