Happy Birthday to Pam! Happy Birthday to Pam! She’s going to have a tough time topping this one. We left Beachcomber (not sad about that) for Nanuya Resort. Nanuya is out of this world. Situated on a beautiful beach just beside the Blue Lagoon (think Brooke Shields), the resort hosts a maximum of 16 guests in bures (hut style rooms). Unlike my Thailand accommodations, these rooms were most excellent. From our tree top bure (sorry, it wasn’t actually in a tree, but merely surrounded by trees on a huge hill), we could see the beach. This is where hammocks enter our life. A beachside hammock is God’s Gift to Amber – and Mindy, Pam, and Mickey.
The restaurant closes at 9, so after our birthday dinner and cake with Pam (who was serenaded during dinner) the staff invited us to have a drink with them to celebrate one of their birthdays. This was such a cool experience. We all made friends quickly and enjoyed such a wonderful time. We danced to American music, drank Fijian rum (with a ridiculous alcohol percentage) and drank Fijian beer. You can only buy Fijian beer and Fijian water in Fiji. I like both and prefer one or the other depending on the time of day. I do think it’s rather cool that I’m drinking Fiji brand water (just like what you get at home) in the country it was actually bottled. Little things make me happy! Ricky Martin makes Pam happy as she almost jumped over the couch to get to the dance floor (aka reception area) when she heard Ricky’s voice.
Today’s book – Straight Talking – total chick book – good break from real thoughts and nice to hear about someone else’s boy drama. 400 + pages, so it’s a bit of a time commitment.

Just to clarify... it's not Ricky Martin that I love. But the song "Cup of Life"! (1998 World Cup Theme)
