Am I supposed to dance to that?

March 10th, 2006

So, I laid on the beach for most of today. Most = ALL. I’m happy to say that I am not really sunburned at all thank to my generous application of SPF 30. I did take a break from the sun to get a beach side massage. What is a vacation without one of those?

Beachcomber is nice, if not exciting. It is the only resort on the island and you can walk around the island in 10 minutes. For about $50 USD, you get a dorm bed and three square meals. The food is decent, but not really worthy of my rating system as it wasn’t very different from food anywhere else. As for the exciting party atmosphere we expected, they nearly put us to sleep with Tracy Chapman. I’m not trashing Tracy, but she doesn’t make me want to dance away my troubles. I fully recognize that I have a lot of gall being troubled about anything while on vacation in Fiji, but I’m still a bit distraught about what could become of the next two months of my life.

Today’s book – Finished Blink – pretty good, but it could have been cut down to 100 pages at the max. Some from the beginning and some from the end would have pretty much been enough. Besides, NO ONE wants to hear about New Coke / Classic Coke / Marketing genius or Marketing failure. The story is done and should not be referenced in every book known to man. Seriously.
