A bit toured out, Pam and I hit St. Kilda beach just south of Melbourne (still in Victoria) today. The shops along the beach were pretty cool – especially the cake shop where we ate. I try to eat something new every chance that I get, so I picked Paylov. Cool whip with fruit and dried sugar on the outside best describes Paylov. On the way back to the bus stop, we discovered a cool night market. I bought a day bag, but I doubt it will last past next week, much less three months from now. Earlier, we shopped at the Victoria Market by our hostel.
You know how sometimes you keep learning the same lessons again and again? Well, I’m no different. Sunscreen is not complicated and, in fact, most of the civilized world mastered its use long ago. I messed up. I have an excuse, but I won’t even bother giving it since my excuse is pretty crap anyway. Please don’t yell at me about this because I’m actually writing this on the 7th and I’ve just spent the entire morning carrying a 20 kg backpack. If that doesn’t teach me, nothing will. I don’t want to get ahead of myself, though.
Oh, a very nice Italian man (probably older than my Dad) invited me to lunch tomorrow and since his hands were on my sunburned shoulders at the time, I don’t think he thought of me in a daughterly way. Maybe he was just looking for a tip. Either way, I was flattered and completely grossed out simultaneously.
