I visited California today. Not really, but driving down the Great Coastal Road along the southern side of Australia reminded me so much of the California coastal highway that I had to remind myself that I was in fact, in a foreign country. The first stop, Bells Beach, served as the backdrop for the Keanu Reeves flick Point Break. We then grabbed a snack in a mountain town and began our incredibly long drive toward the Twelve Apostles. Along the way, we made a couple of scenic stops and visited a Koala park where the Koala’s just hang out in the trees naturally. Our next to last stop was Loch and Gorge, where tons of shipwrecks occurred during the Australia Gold Rush period. I took some great shots here. We wrapped up the tour (thankfully) at the Twelve Apostles. Well, one of the Apostles fell, so the park really only includes eleven Apostles. The tour was interesting. I’m glad I went. Twelve hours on a bus is not fun. The bus was also large and few would describe the guide as a charmer. Win some, lose some. I’m still thinking about dreamy Nick from the wine tour. I did admit earlier tonight that the wine may have influenced my opinion of Nick. I’m OK with that.
