Shabu Shabu

Great - Dinner at Shamu Shamu. Unbeknownst to me, Shamu Shamu is a way of cooking where you basically boil everything in a broth. I think the waiter was remiss in failing to tell Meg not to eat the fish balls uncooked. The waitress’s solution? Drink Saki. Fortunately, Meg did not end up with food poisoning again.

Good – Aqua. Aqua is one of those ritzy bars overlooking Hong Kong Island from Kowloon (Tsim Sha Tsui). Going on a Wednesday is best because you must be excessively cool to gain access on a weekend.

Bad – Lonely Planet let me down. Shamu Shamu was not my first choice, but my original selection (listed as one of the Top 5 is TST) no longer existed. Thank goodness Shamu Shamu had a large enough area for our group of 15.

Ugly – My bed sucks! I sleep in a bunk bed that feels remarkably similar to the floor. It’s also just long enough for me to stretch out. They couldn’t make the bed longer because it’s touching both of my walls. I know Asian people are smaller than Americans, but seriously.
