I might avoid the beach for a little while. I love the beach but I think there is probably a jellyfish out there somewhere that is REALLY pissed at me for eating its son/daughter/mother/father. I am not sorry. As a matter of fact, I gave it a three. I can’t claim to be entirely brave though. I ordered a dish called Sampan Congee without knowing what either Sampan or Congee meant. As it turns out, Sampan is a boat and Congee is porridge. A little internet research told me that the cabbage-like and chicken vein looking additions to my porridge were jellyfish. I guess that is why it’s best to eat first, then ask.
Something interesting happened in class today. The “Doing Business in Asia” Professor is the most westernized that I’ve encountered so far. The Chinese students don’t like him. In fact, they dislike him so much that they are trying to get him fired. For a culture that avoids conflict at any cost, they sure are in a conflict situation with this guy.
